Building a higher ed labor movement wall-to-wall and coast-to-coast.
Higher Education Labor United (HELU) is a national organization founded in 2021 to unite workers throughout U.S. higher education. HELU brings together unions that represent staff, student workers, adjunct, contingent, and tenured faculty, postdocs, university health system workers, and others. We come together to create and pursue a unified vision for higher education and to add our strength to a reinvigorated U.S. labor movement. Unions and organizations representing over 225,000 higher ed and allied workers across the U.S. have joined HELU as member organizations.
HELU merch is now available!
We’re building a higher ed labor movement wall-to-wall and coast-to-coast. Time to dress like it!
We’re working with Worx Union Co-op, a worker-owned union cooperative to get HELU merch out into the world — hats, t-shirts, and hoodies are available now.
We are selling HELU merch at cost. But we invite you to support HELU’s work by making a direct financial contribution. While HELU’s main source of income is solidarity pledges from member organizations, these funds from individuals help us to grow capacity as we work to align the higher ed labor movement.
