ACT-UAW Local 7902, the union of part-time faculty workers at The New School, has been on strike since Wednesday, Nov. 16. These workers haven’t had a raise since 2018 and The New School is refusing to offer pay increases that, at a minimum, meet inflation. Friends of The New School are invited to a Town Hall for All on Zoom this Wednesday, Nov. 23 at 7:30pm ET.
At the town hall, hosted by Student Faculty Solidarity, organizers will introduce student coalitions and ongoing efforts (the Communiversity!), explain more about the timeline of the strike, as well as organize future efforts and actions. In the coming days, they hope to consolidate ideas, share information, and be in community with one another as the strike proceeds: students, faculty, parents, and all.
