University of Illinois at Chicago–United Faculty (UIC–UF) went on strike today (Jan. 17, 2023) for:
- Fair minimum salaries
- Salary increases that keep up with inflation
- Learning disability assessments for our students
- Earlier notice of reappointment for NTT faculty
- Due process for TT faculty
For some UIC-UF workers, a strike could lead to financial challenges. To that end, UIC-UF has authorized an Emergency Strike Fund to be prepared to help striking members meet their short-term financial needs.
100% of funds raised will be distributed directly to union members experiencing financial hardships. Any amount, big or small, will be appreciated by those eligible for aid.
