From our colleagues at CWA:
For years, the workplace rights of nurses, teachers, public safety officers, and other workers performing vital services to benefit the public have been under attack. Anti-worker politicians and their corporate donors have rigged the system to gut workers’ rights and go after health and safety requirements, staffing levels, and more. These attacks harm the quality of public services that state and local governments provide.
There is currently no federal law that guarantees public sector workers the freedom to organize or engage in collective bargaining. That’s why we are demanding Congress pass the Public Service Freedom to Negotiate Act to guarantee that public sector workers in every state have the freedom to stand together and negotiate for fair wages and working conditions.
