5pm ET/4pm CT/3pm MT/2pm PT
Join adjunct, contingent, and part-time faculty leaders from Massachusetts and across the country as we share and explore contract language related to contingent, adjunct, and part-time faculty contracts, and the strategies that are needed to win the contract improvements we need.
This is an opportunity to hear success stories, ask questions, share contract language, problem-solve, and collaborate to build power, across campus and state lines. Contract language themes will explore wages and benefits, job security, equity, seniority, academic freedom, and more.
Bargaining teams, union leaders, contract action teams, activists, and union staff are encouraged to attend, but folks new to organizing and union work are welcome, too! Those who can are encouraged to bring an electronic copy of your current contract accessible so you can easily access and share pieces of your contract language with others. We will kick off with a panel from leading unions and proceed to collaborative breakout room workshops and report-backs as we seek to spread the model and the lessons that are working to win real gains for contingent faculty.
This workshop is sponsored by the Massachusetts Teachers Association, Higher Ed for All Coalition, and Higher Education Labor United (HELU)’s Contingency Task Force.
