The Faculty and Staff Federation of Community College of Philadelphia (FSFCCP), which just had a 97% approval strike authorization with almost 90% participation, is under attack.
Today, the PA Labor Relations Board (PLRB) announced that they will appoint a fact finder. This move is a delay tactic that draws out our already long-overdue fight for a fair contract. The PLRB lacks the authority to appoint a fact finder in this situation because the request was not in compliance with state law: it did not meet the timelines for actions in bargaining. This is a blatant attempt to keep us from using our legal right to strike. This attack parallels the attacks on labor that we are seeing nationally.
Community College of Philadelphia students and members deserve a fair contract now. FSFCCP is fighting for fair wages, full staffing, and increased investment in CCP students. We need all labor in the Philadelphia area to show up and show solidarity. Thursday, March 20th at 8:45am. North apron of Philadelphia City Hall.
