Come hear from the November 2025 candidates for HELU’s Steering Committee (term 2026-2028) at the Candidate Forum on November 17 at 7 PM ET / 6 CT / 5 MT / 4 PT. HELU delegates and at-large members should have received Candidate Forum registration information via email. The debate format will be as follows:
- Candidates for Chair: Each candidate for the office of Chair (or their designee) will be permitted to make a statement up to five minutes in length, with the order of speaking for each candidate determined by lot. Following the conclusion of candidate statements there shall be a fifteen-minute question and answer period, with answers not to exceed two minutes in length.
- Candidates for Officer Positions Other than Chair: Each candidate for officer positions other than Chair (or their designee) will be permitted to make a statement up to three minutes in length, with the order of speaking for each office determined by lot. Following the conclusion of candidate statements there shall be a fifteen-minute question and answer period, with answers not to exceed two minutes in length.
- Candidates for the Steering Committee: Each candidate for the Steering Committee (or their designee) will be permitted to make a statement of up to two minutes in length, with the order of speaking determined by lot. Following the conclusion of candidate statements there shall be a one-hour question and answer period for candidates, with each candidate’s responses not to exceed two minutes in length.
