Donate and sign: Fair pay now for ISU workers!

From our colleagues at AFSCME Local 1110 at Illinois State University:

Buildings, grounds and dining services workers do tough, essential jobs to support students and faculty at Illinois State University. But they’re paid as little as $16.60 an hour, half make less than a living wage for a single adult, and they’ve had no raise in almost two years.

The ISU Labor Coalition (representing United Faculty of ISU-UPI Local 4100, Illinois State University Education Association, AFSCME Local 1110, AFSCME Local 3236, SEIU Local 73 Graduate Workers Union, Lab School Education Association, and the ISU Student Support Professionals chapter of UPI Local 4100) has come together to gather donations for AFSCME Local 1110 workers on strike.

Now ISU administration under President Tarhule — who’s paid $450,000 a year — is stubbornly refusing to offer new proposals to settle a fair union contract with fair pay. Sign the petition; tell them to get back to the bargaining table and pay a living wage!
