Help Utah State University workers continue providing a safe environment for students and staff

From our colleagues at United Campus Workers Utah (UCW Utah CWA 7765):

The Taggart Student Center belongs to the students who use it. Students eat, study, and work at the TSC, and as custodial staff, keeping the TSC clean and safe is our responsibility. Because the TSC is funded by student fees, students have a direct stake in how its resources are used and the quality of the facility they help fund.

With The Junction currently under renovation, the Marketplace is operating seven days a week, creating a legitimate need for additional weekend custodial coverage. Director Cheatham is refusing to hire additional custodial staff to work these extra shifts and even denying overtime hours for existing staff who will be forced to cover the additional days. Cheatham is also implementing a new less efficient cleaning system which will result in work delays.

These changes will leave the TSC perpetually understaffed, increasing the workload on existing custodial staff, delaying cleaning, and negatively affecting both employees and the students.
