From our colleagues at NMSU-NEA:
Since January 2025, NMSU faculty and the university have been negotiating a first union contract. More than 600 days without a finished contract raises real concerns about whether these negotiations are moving with the urgency and seriousness NMSU faculty and students deserve.
The issues that matter to faculty are: affordable healthcare, workloads that allow for student support, parental leave, and competitive compensation levels so NMSU can recruit and retain excellent faculty.
After 600+ days, people are entitled to expect progress—not a process without an end. Send a letter to the NMSU Board of Regents and NMSU leaders demonstrating your support for NMSU Faculty!
