United Academics of Philadelphia (AFT Local 9608) is collecting adjunct (part-time faculty) pay information from across the Philadelphia region to help adjuncts easily compare pay rates and ultimately be able to better advocate for sustainable and equitable compensation.
Anyone teaching as an Adjunct in the Philadelphia region is welcome to share pay information for this project! Data collected will only be shared in aggregate and/or anonymized form.
Great idea. I hope they’re including other “economic benefits” like health insurance. Do they get paid for office hours, for prep? And what about the costs: Do they have to pay for their own technology, copying, parking, etc? This is the tip of the iceberg of coast-to-coast contract comparisons. Good luck!
