From our colleagues at CSUEU:
Sign this petition to oppose the proposal of Lam Family College of Business Dean Eugene Sivadas to eliminate the major in Labor Studies at San Francisco State University. The elimination of the major would undermine the ability of the Labor Studies faculty to educate, inspire, and train the next generation of labor and social justice leaders and organizers at a critical time in our state’s, and the nation’s, politics. The Labor Studies program plays an important role in community engagement and promoting social and racial justice and economic equity, consistent with SFSU’s core mission. Moreover, the 2.3-million-member labor movement in California has always been – and remains today – one of the principal advocates of state adequate funding for public higher education, including the CSU system, in Sacramento.
