On October 13, UT Martin fired professor Johnnie LaDue for using the restroom. Dr. LaDue, a trans woman, was fired for “misconduct” and “refusal to follow lawful instructions” after using the women’s restroom.
Only a week after receiving the first verbal warning from the Dean of the Library, Dr. LaDue was placed on administrative leave and escorted from the building by the provost.
Now, Dr. LaDue is in the process of uprooting her life after four years of teaching at UTM with a spotless record. She is asking for help in funding relocation to a safer state and covering living expenses as she looks for new employment.
